I haven't been maximizing my potential. Fear has been the underlying cause which has held me back. It's kept me hostage for a long time and I've realised that my dreams are included. This has posed as a hindrance to my preparation for what lies ahead holds. I have tried hiding and even avoidance of the scary things. I can see now that I can never run far or fast enough. Running will never make it better. It just makes me feel worse about the guilt of having idle potential.
Fear doesn't dwell in the things that scare you. I'm pulling from all those wonderful moments that I finally got to do things that I had dreaded. The fear just faded away. Fear is not in the things, it lives within people. That is the real home of fear. That is why we can't beat fear by running away but rather by going towards what you're afraid of and do it anyway.
There is an equation
Fear = respect = power
When you give in to fear, it steals your respect, and the other person will think they have power over you. Even life circumstances can do the same. If you become so afraid of something, you respect it's wishes, it's influence, you give in and it has power.
But if you're bold, courageous, understand that “If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly.”-G.K. Chesterton. You will have your power over life.
Remember this.

ReplyDeleteI found it helping and encouraging at the same time… when you said “When you give in to fear, it steals your respect, and the other person will think they have power over you”
